Through Jan. 19, 2015, Astoria’s Museum of Moving Image will be hosting an exhibit featuring the life and work of award-winning animation director and artist Chuck Jones. Hailing from Spokane, Washington, Charles Martin “Chuck” Jones created iconic cartoons such as Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Elmer Fudd, Wile E. Coyote and the exceedingly fast Road Runner.

Remembering The Movie Theaters Of Steinway Street

If you are traveling on foot down Steinway Street patronizing the many shops, eateries and boutiques, it is interesting to know that some of these establishments were once home to movie palaces that date back to the turn of the 20th century.  Around half a dozen theaters once called Steinway Street home, entertaining millions of Astorians during their glorious histories.
