It’s hard to believe we are well into February. Yes it is the shortest month of the year, and it has amazing days, including Beatles Day, Valentines Day, Presidents Day, Washington and Lincoln’s birthdays, Groundhog Day and the Lunar New Year. It’s also Black History Month all month long. So for a short month it’s pretty packed with unique, enjoyable, fun-filled days. 

Queens Library Honors Black History Month

February is best known for flowers and chocolates, in celebration of Valentine's Day; a day off to commemorate Lincoln and Washington if you’re lucky; or getting a weather prediction from large rodents. But February is also an important month for recognizing African American history. Many of us don’t truly know the message behind it. 

QED To Host 5th Annual Oscar Watch Party

For the fifth year in a row, QED is rolling out the red carpet for the Academy Awards next Sunday, February 24th with ballots, trivia, food and prizes. 

QCA Announces Its 2019 Queens Arts Fund Recipients!

The Queens Council on the Arts (QCA) announced that the 2019 Queens Arts Fund (QAF) will distribute 188 grants totaling $497,600 to be given to 104 Queens individual artists and 70 nonprofit organizations. This is the largest amount of grants that the program has awarded to date!
