Queens Theatre is halfway through its 30th anniversary season and is ready to dive back in with the following shows set for February and March.

MOMIX presents VIVA MOMIX on Feb. 9 & 10

Combining illusion, beauty, magic, and inventiveness, VIVA MOMIX features everything that MOMIX is known for. Recognized internationally for presenting work of exceptional innovation and physical artistry, MOMIX is a company of dancer-illusionists under the direction of Moses Pendleton. VIVA MOMIX is a collection of the most iconic pieces from the company’s illustrious repertoire and includes several fantastic new works by Pendleton. The School of American Ballet presents The Beauty of Ballet on Feb. 24

How do ballerinas dance on their toes? How do dancers spin and turn without getting dizzy? Those questions and more will be answered through the performance of favorite ballet moments from The Sleeping Beauty, The Nutcracker, and Swan Lake. Faculty member Katrina Killian and advanced students from the School of American Ballet are featured in this enchanting introduction to the art of classical ballet. This is a free event, but reservations are strongly suggested. The box office will begin taking reservations on Tuesday, Jan. 15 at noon.

Ballet Nepantla presents Sin Fronteras on March 2

One performance only! Ballet Nepantla presents a synergistic celebration crossing geographic, historic and artistic borders. Sin Fronteras explores the in-betweenness of cultures within the realm of dance, harmonizing traditional Mexican folkloric, contemporary and classical ballet, and West African dance in a way no other show has done.

Koresh Dance Company presents Inner Sun on March 16 & 17

This is their Queens Theatre debut. Inspired by the parallel between the earth's core and that of the human body, Inner Sun celebrates the human spirit’s ability to create the warmth and power that drives our journeys. Inner Sun illuminates the stage with joy as the dancers move from sweeping circles to strong stage formations using body percussion, gestures and rhythms drawn from Koresh’s folk roots and the human experience.

Tickets are available on the website, www.queenstheatre.org, or by calling the box office at 718-760- 0064.

Tickets are $20-$42 for MOMIX and Koresh Dance Company; $20-$30 for Ballet Nepantla; and School of American Ballet: free.
