Flux Factory: Magnificent Mischief And Mayhem

A look at the antics of creative creatures at Flux in 2018: Flux Factory wishes everyone a Happy New Year, and says, “We would like to wish you a delicious and hilarious 2019 from everyone at Flux Factory. 2018 was an amazing year for us, and we are so excited about what we have in store for you this coming year. If you don’t follow us on Instagram or Facebook yet, please do, to keep up with all the magnificent mayhem that Fluxers get up to. Here’s a brief look at 2018 to whet your appetite for 2019… Flux Thursday: Act Up. Sound Out: The most recent Flux Thursday was held on January 10th, with a dinner followed by presentations. It is a monthly potluck and art salon during which anyone who’s interested is invited to participate and create something that responds to each month's theme. The event is free, but they ask that participants bring food or drink to share! Flux organizers said, “Roundtable? Join us on the sofreh, a traditional Iranian backdrop that holds a feast, a gathering, a place to come together. Feast on the community sofreh with a presentation of work by Yams Collective member Maureen Catbagan, a presentation and surprise Amazon Jungle Gym performance by Jevijoe Vitug, and a Weaponizing Sound presentation and workshop by Sholeh Asgary and Rachel Austin.” The central microphone and stage was open to all for the rest of the evening to pose pressing questions for discussion, to sing a song, or to share a story. Stay tuned for Flux’s next Flux Thursday and join the fun.
