Smuggling Hendrix Screened In MMI Greek Film Series

Always on Sunday, the ongoing Greek Film Series at the Museum of the Moving Image, screened the film, Smuggling Hendrix (2018, 93 mins.), on Sunday, November 11. This award-winning comedy is the story of a man and his dog, Jimi Hendrix, who become separated, and later trapped in a section of Cypress occupied by Turkey. The film is written and directed by Marios Piperides, and stars Adam Bousdoukos as Yiannis, a down on his luck musician who is seeking to make a new start in Holland; and Vicky Papadopoulou as Kika, an ex-girlfriend who tries to help him.

The film played to sold-out audiences at the Museum of the Moving Image, and premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival.

Always on Sunday is presented by the Hellenic Film Society USA.

The next screening in this series is Kazantzakis, on December 9. Kazantzakis is a biographical film based on the life of the Greek author Nikos Kazantzakis.
