So only 30 days has November, but they’re all very exciting, from Election Day to Veterans Day to Thanksgiving. They all begin the countdown in our head to the great time we have enjoying all the holidays that start from the beginning of 11-01 to the end of 12-31. We know that in November all 30 days are full of 30 things to do every 30 minutes in this great neighborhood of ours.

Holiday Festival & Tree Lighting

Central Astoria LDC proudly announced its 6th annual Holiday Festival & Tree Lighting Celebration to be held on Saturday, December 1, on the Great Lawn at Astoria Park, from 2-5 pm. When we think of the city we think of busy streets and potholes. But there are numerous local farms within New York City! You don’t have to go too far from your house to find some of this local produce, much of it organic. Farmers’ markets are located throughout Queens and offer locally grown, seasonal vegetables, fresh meats, often grass-fed, fresh baked goods and honey.

Smuggling Hendrix Screened In MMI Greek Film Series

Always on Sunday, the ongoing Greek Film Series at the Museum of the Moving Image, screened the film, Smuggling Hendrix (2018, 93 mins.), on Sunday, November 11. This award-winning comedy is the story of a man and his dog, Jimi Hendrix, who become separated, and later trapped in a section of Cypress occupied by Turkey.
