Hit The Town On Halloween—And Before

Central Astoria LDC is holding their 3rd annual Batty Over Halloween Celebration on Sunday, October 21, at the Astoria Park Great Lawn from 12:30 to 2 pm. Bring the kiddies to enjoy the Halloween characters, free popcorn, scavenger hunt, balloon animals and Selfie Station.

Katch (31-19 Newtown Avenue) on Thursday, October 25 will be hosting a Halloween Singles Mingle Party and Costume Contest, with DJ Toreitup and drink specials all night.

Joe’s Garage (45-01 23rd Avenue) is hosting a Halloween Costume Party on Saturday, October 27. The party starts at 8 pm, and food and drink specials will be offered. The best costume wins a prize.

Studio Square (35-33 36th Street) presents Camilo’s Fear Garden 5 on Saturday, October 27. Doors open at 8 pm. There will be a live DJ and cash prizes for best costumes. Tickets are available on Eventbrite.com

Halloween Harvest Festival at Socrates Sculpture Park (32-01 Vernon Blvd) on Saturday, October 27, from 12 to 4 pm. Join in the Halloween art-making workshops, face-painting, harvest foods from local restaurants or enter your dog in the canine costume contest and animal blessing. The event will include the Haitian Fete Gede, or Day of the Dead with Haitian traditions, such as card readings, Gede song workshops, and mini altars to honor those who have passed.

Bohemian Hall & Beer Garden (29-19 24th Avenue) on Saturday, October 27 will be hosting their Costume

Passage Irish Bar and Kitchen (40-11 30th Avenue) on Saturday, October 27 will be hosting their Passage Monster Mash and Pumpkin Smash. Dance to music by DJ Ronan Kerr or smash five-pound pumpkins in the back for $5. The parlor will be transformed into a pumpkin horror show smashing pumpkins to music. Or get your Monster Mash on in the front: enjoy DJ Ronan, Pumpkin Beer and Halloween cocktail specials all night with a cash prize for best costume at midnight.

Come sit by candlelight and prepare for a night of fright at Astoria Book Shop (31-29 31st Street). In honor of Halloween on Tuesday, October 30, at 7 pm, they will host Spooky Storytime & Open Mic when people will tell ghost stories and read some terrifying tales. Q.E.D (27-16 23rd Avenue) will be hosting a Halloween Horror Movie-Thon on Halloween night, October 31. Doors open at 6 pm. In between movies, they will also be showing vintage horror trailers, playing trivia for prizes and conducting a costume contest. For more info, visit qedastoria.com.

Comfortland (40-09 30th Avenue) will host Queens Comfort’s annual Halloween Toys 4 Tots toy drive. Stop by on Wednesday, October 31, from 5 pm to 8 pm, when you can donate a toy for a local charity and get free donuts and more!
