4th Anniversary

On The Cover

This issue represents our fourth anniversary, and we are celebrating the birth and inception of this magazine we started in May of 2014. It is always cliched to say I can’t believe time goes so fast…but we have to say it really is going incredibly fast. It was only a few months ago it seems, when we felt that the Queens Gazette newspaper, Astoria and Queens’ hometown paper for four decades, should launch an Astoria-centric, food-art-fun and culture-based magazine in glossy color. Thus the Queens Scene was born and here we are four years later celebrating our fourth anniversary. We hope to continue to grow and expand and bring our readers what they want to read about in our beautiful, fabulous neighborhood, our home—Astoria Long Island City—the heartbeat of Queens, the cultural, ethnic center of the world, and as we always used to say, you can see the whole world without leaving your neighborhood. It’s a fact that Queens residents speak the most languages in the whole world!

On this happy occasion we want to thank you for being our readers. Thank you for helping us establish the Queens Scene and have it thrive and grow, to the point where space is extremely limited in our magazine. We appreciate your loyalty and readership. And to our advertisers, thank you for helping us to get to this point and we look forward to sharing our growth with you and our community.
