Chris Carlsen is the founder of Iron Lion. He is a former Division 1 athlete, and is a certified strength and conditioning specialist. He holds specialized certifications in fitness therapy, functional range. He has also competed in the complete Olympic lifting workshop. Although Chris is trained as an athlete he realizes many of his clients are not at the same level. In order to help his clients reach their individual goals he needed to educate himself in the area of physical assessment. Chris discovered Gray Cook and his functional movement screening: a system for evaluating one’s flexibility and mobility. As opposed to thinking about training the body for specific muscle groups, Iron Lion’s movement programming is based on training the body as a whole entity. “Strengthening and counter-acting joint actions will clean up movement issues that cause back pain, poor posture, knee and shoulder pain, but above all, produce highly successful, physically fit individuals. You will move better, lift more weight, and most importantly, get in the greatest shape of your life,” Chris assures.
