Antika Pizzeria, The Pie Of Your Dreams

If you’re looking for unbelievable Italian food at an unbeatable price, you don’t need to head to Rome, Milan, or even Little Italy – the delights of Italian cuisine are readily available everywhere in Queens, and are, perhaps, even more prevalent in Astoria. There are dozens of great restaurants, large and small, for everything from fine dining “antipasti” to the quickstop pizza joint. But, if you’re looking for the perfect combination of speed and style look no further than Antika Pizzeria, conveniently located at 36- 08 30th Ave, Astoria.

Antika is one of the neighborhood’s hidden gems – with plentiful outdoor seating on 30th Avenue, it’s perfect for springtime lunches and summer dinners, or for those unseasonably warm days in February when only a wood-fired pizza will do. Enter and you will be welcomed like family by staff that always seem to be smiling, and despite the fact that the place will be packed (it always is), you’ll be whisked to a table in no time, and will be given attentive yet-relaxed service from the moment you enter.

It’s hard to go wrong with their menu, whatever you’re looking for. Whether you’re craving a salad, pasta, or any one of their time-honored entrees, it’s sure to make even the pickiest members of your party drool and come back for more. But the real star of Antika’s menu isn’t the amazing entrees – it’s the pizza.

Their formula is simple: fresh ingredients, brick oven, choose-your-own toppings – it can be a difficult line to walk, especially with so many other pizza places right in the neighborhood. But Antika takes it to the next level, offering two kinds of pies – the old-fashioned grandma style, a square pizza made with San Marzano tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, grana Padano (comes in just one size), pecorino and oregano; or a classic round that’s either small or large, and is made with organic ingredients that really do make a palatable difference. My favorite pizza is the Classic New York Round with pepperoni, roasted garlic, and, if I’m feeling a little fancy, their white truffle oil. Head on down to Antika Pizzeria, and create the pie of your dreams today!
