Astoria Soundworks

What once stood for Astoria Silk Works, now stands for something completely different. ASW is Astoria Soundworks rehearsal studios, home to a lot of the underground music that fills the clubs of Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Long Island City. Located on Steinway Street and 23rd Avenue, ASW turned the early-1900s silk factory into a new millennium music facility.

Astoria Park enthusiasts rallied together to raise money at the Astoria Park Alliance fundraiser hosted by Inside Astoria owners John Ward and Andrew Purdom. The benefit was a warm and elegant gathering despite a rainy evening. Astorians were encouraged to mingle and volunteer their thoughts and efforts to better the thriving park.
